Configure Captive Portal URL Redirection

Applicable Version:  10.02.0 Build 224 onwards
Cyberoam allows administrators to customize URL Redirection after a user logs in through the Captive Portal. A Captive Portal is used to authenticate an existing user in Cyberoam through a web browser interface before granting access to the Internet. Once the user authenticates, the user is redirected to his/her intended URL or to a URL pre-configured by the administrator.

Configure URL Redirection such that all users are redirected to
www.cyberoam.com after login.

You can configure URL redirection by following the instructions given below. Configuration is to be done from Web Admin Console using Administrator profile.

·         Go to Identity > Authentication > Firewall.

·         Enable URL Redirection after Login.

·         Select Custom URL in URL to redirect and specify the URL to which you want the users to redirect after login. Here, we have configured www.cyberoam.com, as shown below.

The above configuration redirects all users to www.cyberoam.com after login into Captive Portal.

When the user opens any browser to access Internet, Cyberoamfirst opens the Captive Portal page prompting the user to enter valid credentials for authentication.

If the provided username and password are correct,

Case 1: If Pop-up is blocked

A pop-up blocked message is displayed and the login page with login status opens in the same window.

Case 2: If Pop-up is allowed

The intended site opens in the same window and the successful login status pops up in a new window.

The above behaviour is browser dependent.
