Setup Serial Console Connection using PuTTy
Applicable Version: 10.00 onwards

A serial connection can be established between any Cyberoam Appliance and a PC using a console/serial cable (cable having a 9 pin DB supplied with the Cyberoam appliance). PuTTy, an open source SSH and Telnet client, can be used to setup the serial connection. To download PuTTy, click here.

To setup a serial console connection between Cyberoam Appliance and a PC, follow the steps given below:

1.     Physically connect one end of the serial cable - RJ45 connector (console cable supplied with Cyberoam Appliance) to Console port on the front panel
of Cyberoam and the other end to the PC’s serial port.

2.     Launch PuTTy. Select Connection type as Serial.

3.   Go to Connection > Serial to configure the Options controlling local serial lines according to table given below:

4.     Click Open to establish the connection. Cyberoam CLI login page is displayed.

5.     Access Cyberoam CLI using administrator password.

Note:

If you want to log your PuTTy session or save the entire command line to a local file:

•   Select Logging under Category > Session.
•   Select All Session Output and click Browse to select the location to save the log file.

Now, the session outputs will be logged at the specified location as shown in the image.
