Requirement
To allow file category access to a specific website.
Cyberoam provides default categories, which can be used to block the malicious and objectionable contents.
In this article, a hypothetical example is illustrated to allow file category access to a specific website – www.cyberoam.com. Data can be downloaded from only this specific website and would be denied for all other websites.
This document explains to block file type categories (E.g. .mpeg, .mp3, .exe etc) for all the sites, but allow all these file types for one web site or list of web sites (E.g. cyberoam.com).

Solution
The entire configuration is to be done from Web Admin console. Access Web Admin console with user having “Administrator” profile.
Follow the below given steps to create a customized Web Category & allow file category access to website – www.cyberoam.com for user ‘John’:
Step 1: Create Custom Web Category for www.cyberoam.com website
Go to Web Filter à Category à Category and click “Add” button to create custom Web Category with name “AllowFileDownload”.

Note* - Mention the name of the domains which needs to be given full access.

Click OK and the Custom Web Filter Category ‘AllowFileDownload’ will be created successfully.
Step 2: Create Web Filter Policy
Here File Category access has been allowed for website – www.cyberoam.com for user ‘John’ and has been denied for all other websites.
Go to Web Filter à Policy à Policy and click “Add” button to create a Web Filter Policy with the following parameters.

Here all the downloads on Cyberoam would be allowed, but would be blocked for all other websites.

Click OK and the Web Filter Policy ‘Cyberoam’ will be created successfully.
Note:
You can also define custom policies to define different levels of access for different users to meet your organization’s requirements.
Step 3: Add Web Filter Policy Rules
Go to Web Filter à Policy à Policy and click on ‘Add’ button to add web filter policy rules. Click the Edit icon in the Manage column against the Web Filter Policy to which rules are to be added.
Here file type categories (E.g. .mpeg, .mp3, .exe etc) are blocked for all the sites.

Step 4: Apply Web Filter Policy to User
- Go to Identity à Users à User
- Select user to apply Web Filter policy created in Step 2.
- Under Policies Section, select ‘Cyberoam’ for Web Filter
- Click OK button to update
Above configuration will allow file download on website – www.cyberoam.com for user ‘John’ and would be denied for all other websites.
Note
In this article policy has been applied on user. Policy can also be applied on Groups and Firewall.
